Why Now Is a Good Time to Buy New Pontiac Cars

new carsWith the uncertain economy, you may think now is a really bad time to buy a new Pontiac car. But according to some people, nothing could be further from the truth.

For one thing, you may never find a better deal on new Pontiac cars than you can find these days. With all the trouble automakers are going through to get people to buy their products, they will do almost anything to entice you to their brands. Between employee pricing incentives, zero percent financing and other incentives, you can probably save as much as 10 percent off the price of a new car.

Secondly, the new stimulus bill has provisions in it to offer tax deductions to people who buy new cars between now and the end of the year. Check with your certified tax accountant for more information about this because eligibility is based on your income and individual financial situation.

Finally, you can get more money for your trade-ins right now. With more people choosing used cars over new ones, dealers are having a difficult time keeping used cars on their lots. That means they are willing to pay more for your trade-in, knocking even more money off of your new car purchase.

Armed with these facts, why not see about the new Pontiac cars on the market at your local dealer today? Don’t wait too long or these incentives and advantages could disappear without warning.

Saving Gas in Your Pontiac Cars

pontiac dealersWho doesn’t want to save gas? Even though prices are less expensive than they were last year, saving gas is something everybody wants to do. Here are a few tips for saving gas when driving your Pontiac cars.

Carpool – If you live near someone who works in the same place as you do, why not try to get a carpool going? The more people you get to join your carpool, the less gas you’ll use in your own car. Besides, you also get to use that cool HOV lane if you carpool in some metropolitan areas.

Unload – The more stuff you carry around in your Pontiac cars, the worse your gas mileage is going to be. That’s especially true if you have something (bike, skis, luggage) attached to your car that creates drag.

Tire Pressure – Your tire pressure has a significant impact on your gas mileage. Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper PSI according to the manufacturer. If your tires are low, you could be throwing money away as you drive.

Use these and other simple tips when driving your Pontiac cars and you can use the money you once spent on gas for something more fun and exciting!

Driving Your Pontiac Cars Less Could Save You Money

pontiac dealersWe all know that you can save gas money by driving your Pontiac cars fewer miles and using some eco-conscious habits. But did you know you could save money on your insurance premiums by keeping your miles to a minimum in your Pontiac cars?

A new bill in the state of Washington passed the state Senate today that may allow drivers to pay insurance premiums based on the number of miles they regularly drive. It will move to the House before it is finalized. The bill allows insurance companies to utilize usage-based insurance programs in which they charge infrequent drivers less than drivers who are on the roads more frequently. This idea has gained popularity among environmentalists, too, as it will encourage people to drive less so they can save money.

Drivers would have the option of participating in the program. The only problem is that some wonder how the insurance companies would monitor each driver’s mileage if they decide to participate. Some are worried that this could lead to an invasion of privacy. Others argue that the bill is unnecessary because insurance companies already consider how much a person drives when determining the prices for their premiums.

Would you be willing to participate in a program like this if it was offered in this area? Or would you be worried that it is too invasive on your privacy? Let us know your thoughts below.

Driving Rules to Remember in Your Pontiac Cars

pontiac dealersAs drivers, we all think we know the written and unwritten rules of the road. However, we sometimes tend to forget about them when it serves our own purposes. A Detroit Free Press columnist recently offered a “refresher course” on some of these rules that every driver should heed for courtesy and the safety of others.

Turn Lanes are Not Merge Lanes
When you make a left turn onto a busy street, do you use the center lane to merge into the traffic going your way? Many of us think that’s acceptable, but it’s actually not. According to officials that the columnist talked to, most police officers will not ticket you for using it as a merge lane, but it is a possibility if they think you are impeding traffic or causing potential harm to other drivers.

Is It Really a Fast Lane?
Many people think the far left lane on a three-lane highway is the fast lane, or passing lane. When it’s a two-lane highway, it’s typically the law in most states. However, on three-lane highways, it’s not always the case. Just to be safe, only use the far left lane when it’s necessary.

These are just a couple of the laws you should be aware of when driving your Pontiac cars. We’ll talk about more of these laws in the days and weeks to come as a service to our customers.

Driving Pontiac Cars and Cell Phones Do Not Mix in Jersey

pontiac dealersIf you are an avid cell phone talker when you’re driving your Pontiac cars in New Jersey, you may want to change your habits.

The recent ban on using your cell phone while driving, which went into effect nearly one year ago, has already resulted in more than 109,000 summonses being issued to drivers who have ignored the law. That’s an amazing number considering only about 60,000 summonses were issued during the last five years combined for the same offense.

The difference between the old law and the new one is that the new ban on cell phones makes it a primary offense. That means the police can pull you over for only talking on your cell phone when you’re driving. Before the new ban, the police had to pull you over for some other offense and then ticket you for using your cell phone, too.

So far, New Jersey is only the fourth state that has made cell phone usage a primary offense when driving. Other states are working on implementing similar legislation.

Whether you’re driving Pontiac cars or any other vehicles, keep your cell phone off when you’re behind the wheel. If it’s a call that you “have to take,” pull over and do what you have to do. You’ll help yourself and others stay safe!

Breastfeeding in Your Pontiac Cars? Not a Good Idea

pontiac carsStates like Pennsylvania and New Jersey are cracking down with laws about driving while talking on a cell phone, but this story is entirely different.

Last week, a woman in Dayton, Ohio was pulled over for breastfeeding her infant while behind the wheel of her car. But that’s not all. Genine Compton, the mother of three, was also reportedly talking on her cell phone at the same time. Another motorist who was at the school when she dropped off her other kids reported her to the police when he saw her pull away with her infant in her lap. He gave the police her license plate number and they waited for her when she came to the school to drop off her kids the next morning.

Compton was charged with first-degree misdemeanor of child endangering and a minor misdemeanor for not restraining her infant. She was given a ticket and a summons to appear in court and she could face up to six months in jail or face fines of up to $1,800.

Let this be a lesson to you. Don’t drive around in your Pontiac cars while breastfeeding your baby. It’s not only dangerous for you, your baby and other drives on the road, but it’s also against the law.

Drive Your Pontiac Cars Carefully through the Snow

pontiac carsFebruary was one of the driest months on record for parts of the northeast, but if the first two days of March is any indication, this month will make up for it.

Driving your Pontiac cars to work today is probably going to be more difficult than usual. The state is preparing for a massive winter storm that is supposed to leave a foot of snow in most parts of the state. As we all know, that makes for a horrible commute. The snow started during the early evening hours last night, but picked up speed as it continued to fall. Meteorologists expect it to fall until early Monday afternoon.

According to the Turnpike Authority, the state has more than 300 plow trucks that are ready to go within minutes of getting the call. There are also nearly 300 contractors that the state can call in case there is heavy accumulation. “Now it’s just a matter of getting the right start time,” said an official with the Turnpike Authority.

Police will likely be responding to dozens of accidents throughout the day. Don’t become one of these drivers, though. Slow down when driving your Pontiac cars today and leave yourself extra time to get where you need to be. And if you don’t need to go out, stay in and wait until the roads are clear.
