The marketplace recognized this accomplishment, too.

After United States President Barack Obama announced that the administration will put new rules in place that require cars as well as light trucks to increase in fuel efficiency by 2011, stock in Hyundai rose significantly. In addition to the new rules, President Obama gave directions to the EPA to think about approving a request from California to implement a state program that will cut emissions by as much as 30 percent by the year 2016.

Hyundai’s biggest market outside of Korea is the United States. The anticipation of these new fuel efficiency policies had a positive effect on the Korean automaker’s stock value, as Hyundai is less reliant on SUVs than some of the other automakers.

If you want to see what it is that has investors excited, come to your local Hyundai dealer near East Brunswick today. We can help you find a car that gets you where you want to go, in the style you want, in a fuel efficient way.

The middle of the winter weather season is a good time to take a few minutes and check your winter emergency kit, to make sure that you have everything you could need in the event of an emergency in your Hyundai near Somerville . You should check to see if there are items you forgot to include at the beginning of the winter, as well as replenish anything you might have used up.

One of the things you should have in your car during the winter is a flashlight and a spare set of batteries. You’ll want to test the batteries, as extreme cold can weaken batteries significantly. Replace them if they’ve gone dim.

There are other items you might have taken out during the winter, and you should check to see if they’re still there. These include an ice scraper with a snow brush, your first aid kit, snack food and water, or other perishable items.

Check to make sure you’ve got all of your regular equipment, too, including jumper cables, flares, your tool kit, warm blankets or a sleeping bag and tow straps. While it’s not likely you’ve used any of these items if you haven’t had an emergency, you should still check to make sure they’re there.

Now, a Hyundai may play an integral part in saving the world, in the hands of Jack Bauer from Fox’s hit TV show ‘24’.

Recently, Hyundai has agreed with the show to increase sponsorship. The rough and tumble secret agent Bauer will drive a Hyundai as he seeks to free the world of oppression, track down terrorists, and prevent catastrophic disasters every Monday night on Fox.

A spokesman from Hyundai confirmed the involvement of Hyundai in a product integration sponsorship on the series. The spokesman is quoted as saying, “We’re delighted with the exposure we have received from one of the top-rated shows on TV. “It’s a great way to open eyes to our terrific products.”

Ford, which previously had the top spot on the series in terms of product integration, will still maintain a position on the show. Government ages will drive the Ford Escape and Expedition, while the show’s lead character Bauer will drive a Hyundai. There has not yet been an announcement as to which Hyundai model will be featured.

If you want to drive the same type of vehicle Jack Bauer does, come and see your Hyundai dealer today.

Your Hyundai dealer near Somerville knows that hard economic times hit everyone. Just because you still have your job today doesn’t mean that you’ll have it tomorrow. Disasters happen, and the last thing you need when it does is to wind up ruining your credit rating due to being unable to pay on your Hyundai vehicle.

The Hyundai Assurance program is designed for when those dire circumstances happen. Under this program, you can return a new Hyundai within one year under certain circumstances, without a penalty. Some of the circumstances include things like being laid off, getting transferred internationally, or becoming physically disabled. Even bankruptcy for a self-employed person qualifies you for the program.

Under the program, you can simply return the vehicle to Hyundai. You would fill out a benefit request with Hyundai, and your credit rating would not be negatively affected for returning the vehicle. You won’t owe any more on the vehicle, and you simply stop making payments on the vehicle.

This program comes at a time when it’s sorely needed. While no one who buys a new car expects to be out of work within a year, it’s nice to know that this program is available if it does happen.

When you take a look at the Hyundai cars near Somerville this time of year, one thing is common to all of them: they’re cold. Winter can be hard on a car, and you do everything you can to try to make sure that your car runs fine through the winter.

It used to be that one of the problems you needed to worry about during winter was that your fuel would gel. Prior to the 1970s, valve guides were merely small holes that were drilled into the iron head of a cylinder. These guides needed some extra help during the winter to maintain their lubrication. Since then , these guides have been made of bronze, and are more resistant to wear.

Further complicating this question is the fact that these fuel additives are still on the shelves. In addition, diesel engines can benefit from an antigelling additive. However, most vehicles you’ll find on the road today have no need for an antigelling fuel additive. Adding one doesn’t hurt the vehicle, but it doesn’t benefit in any way, either.

Necessity is truly the mother of invention, and the high gas prices this past year have had consumers demanding ways to save money at the gas pump. One company has recently offered some help in the way of an unexpected device. You install this device into your East Brunswick area Hyundai car and it helps you to know whether your vehicle is operating as efficiently as possible.

The device, known as Kiwi MPG, is compatible with cars that are newer than 1996. The device connects to your car’s on board diagnostic port (known as the OBDII), which is found near the steering column. The Kiwi gets information from your vehicle’s sensors to determine what the optimal driving conditions are for your vehicle.

As you drive, the Kiwi gives you a score. The higher the Kiwi score, the more efficient you’re driving. While the Kiwi doesn’t affect your mileage directly, it goes a long way toward modifying your driving behavior so as to help you maximize your fuel efficiency.

Each day, your Kiwi MPG can show you how much you’ve saved on gas. Over time, you can actually track how much you’ve saved throughout the year.

No one wants to think about the worst case scenarios that can happen in a car, especially when you’re at your dealer shopping for Hyundai cars near Somerville. Still, accidents happen, and it can be worth it to take a few minutes to think about possible disaster scenarios.

One of the potential disasters that can occur when you’re driving is for yoru car to become submerged. Even during the winter, it’s possible for your car to go careening off a bridge and fall through the ice, leaving you in cold and dangerous water. Here are the important things to remember if this sort of disaster happens to you:

First, try not to panic. Maintaining a clear head is key to surviving any disaster.

Be aware of your surroundings. Watch out for hazards in the water, as well as inside the vehicle.

Know what exit points you have. You need to roll windows down as soon as it looks like your car may go under. Do this before the car sinks, so that you have an exit.

Remove your seatbelt, unless your car is being jolted around.

Get to higher ground as soon as possible. Get out of the window or the sunroof, and get to land. Don’t try to walk or swim through fast moving flood water, as the current can pull you away and cause other injuries.

A little preparation can save you from all sorts of disaster down the road.

When you’re driving your Hyundai cars near East Brunswick, you try to be a safe and courteous driver. The fact of the matter is, however, that car crashes do happen. When they do, it’s important to know how to handle the situation. By being prepared ahead of time, you can know how best to handle an accident.

To start with, you should always keep an emergency kit in your car. That should include a first aid kit, but also things like emergency flares, a disposable camera for taking pictures of the accident and a pen and paper for note taking.

You should also mentally prepare for an accident. Remember the steps involved in dealing with an accident effectively. Check for your safety, then the safety of your passengers, then the safety of people in the other vehicle. Move people to a safe place, out of the road.

From there, call emergency services. Begin to take notes, if appropriate. If possible, move the vehicles to a safe place where they won’t cause further accidents. Then, get the name, address, phone number and insurance company from the other parties. Once the police or other responders arrive, cooperate fully with what they ask you to do.

Known for their good marks in crast testing, one of the best things you can do is to choose a Hyundai vehicle that has side air bags.

Side air bags protect the head, chest or both when an adult is in an accident. There are, essentially, three different types of side air bags. There are side air bags for the chest, ones for the head and combination side air bags that protect both.

Head side air bags may be either “curtain” or “tubular.” Curtain side air bags usually protect the rear as well as the front occupants when there is a crash from the side. They also help to keep occupants from being ejected after a rollover.

Side airbags inflate and deploy in just a small amount of time. There are sensors within the vehicle that let the vehicle know if it’s been hit from the side. Side air bags differ from frontal air bags in that they can stay inflated for a while during the process of a crash.
