At a time when domestic automakers are looking for a financial bailout from the federal government, the 2008 Hyundai October sales figures are the company’s best figures ever.
The 2008 Hyundai sales are due to some of the automaker’s smaller cars that are better on fuel economy. The i10, i30 and several others are attractive to buyers interested in nice cars with a better fuel economy, explaining the surge in sales in October for Hyundai cars.
In terms of numbers, global sales of Hyundai cars were up about 12 percent from the same time period in 2007. Overseas sales were also up in October 2008 from last year even though Hyundai diverted some shipments due to fewer available supplies.
But smaller cars aren’t the only thing that helped increase 2008 Hyundai sales. Markets like the Middle East and Russia were more interested in cars that ranged from small vehicles to the Tucson compact SUV. While these models are good on gas, they are not as good as the smaller cars like the i10 and i30.
The most impressive numbers probably occurred in the India and China markets, however, where sales of the i10 increased by about 66 percent!
