• The second generation Firebird debuted on February 26, 1970. The body style was changed from a “Coke bottle” style to a more “swoopy” body style.
• The Trans Am was a “specialty package for the Firebird,” according to this Wikipedia article. The Trans Am version offered better handling and suspension as well as more horsepower. There were also minor changes in the appearance to make it look sportier than the normal Firebird.
