What’s Under Your Hood?

Taking care of your Toyota Hybrid doesn’t always mean taking it to your Pennsylvania automotive dealer to have it looked at. There are plenty of things that you yourself can look for under your hood to make sure your vehicle continues to run as smooth as possible.

First, check your engine. Check the oil level, to make sure it isn’t low on oil. Also, take a look at the oil to see if it is thick or gritty. If it is, it’s time to have your oil changed at your Pennsylvania automotive dealer.

Next, look at your coolant level. Check the overflow tank, if you’ve got one. Otherwise, make sure you don’t take off the radiator cap while the engine is warm.

You’ll want to check some other fluid levels, as well. You’ll want to check brake fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid. While it can sometimes be harder to know how to check these, a few minutes with your owner’s manual may help.

You should also to check the belts under your hood. If there are any belts that are loose, worn, or frayed, you’ll want to have them replaced as soon as possible.

Finally, keep an eye out for anything out of sorts under the hood of your Toyota Hybrid. Look for loose connections, exposed wires and anything else out of place.
